How are hero battles matched up? - Guild Wars Forums

Basically question in title. I'm doing hero battles like everyone is this weekend, at the moment I have 24 wins and 21 losses, rated like 1002 or so, and ranked 16k+. So why do I keep getting matched against people who are ranked way better and have much better rating, who take a few minutes to completely run circles around me and win like 20-3 or something. I'm not QQing cause I suck at hero battles (I do), but isn't it supposed to match up people who are somewhat similar in rating? (and I do realize that some people have tanked their rating in order to fight at a much lower level and get more points, is that what's going on here?)

I stand at around rating 1070 atm, and the pairings I get are also very high compared to mine, however, sometimes, I even end up against people less than rating 1000, and they get crushed.
Sometimes I feel kinda sorry but meh, its my commander points not theres.
I understand how it can feel, but I advise you try to work a build around this logic

DPS (you)
healer.
Tank for the shrines, lets the healer run around with you, give the support mild tanking viability, such as a ritualist with weapon of shadow?
Anyways, I know it was a "gimme a build thread", but I have no idea.

my only explanation is that...

rather than anet makin u wait 2 hrs to find a decent matchup
it makes u wait 5mins to give u a 'meh' matchp ~__~

jus be glad it doesnt make u wait 30mins jus to even get a matchup like ab does lol
